The presentation will review wound healing Principles and Methodology to ensure predictable outcomes in Immediate Placement. This presentation will also provide a comprehensive overview of immediate placement techniques in extraction sockets with and without buckle plate. Emphasis will be made on prosthetic guidelines and biologic principles. Management of sockets will also be discussed.

Dr. Shankar Iyer, DDS, MDS, FAAID, DABOI/ID, graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1994 and went on to pursue graduate studies in prosthodontics at NYU.

He currently holds two appointments in the departments of periodontics and prosthodontics at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Iyer is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry and a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He is the director of the AAID Implant Maxicourse held in Asia. He co-directs these courses in Las Vegas and at Rutgers.

Dr. Iyer also is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontists and the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics.
