This program is designed for the general dentist interested in performing a rapid risk-benefit analysis for, and approach to surgical extractions and dental impactions.  This webinar will highlight a variety of risk indicators and red flags that include local and/or surgical factors, as well as systemic and/or medical risk factors. Methods of radiographic assessment including the use of CBCT will be outlined.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to assess local and systemic risk factors for surgical extractions and dental impactions
  • Learn to use simple and advanced radiographic tools to assess surgical extractions and dental impactions
  • Use the available information and tools to develop an approach to more complex extractions

Dr. Allen Glied is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in full time academic practice.  He is the Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center in the Bronx, New York and is a full time faculty member for a large General Practice Residency, as well as several specialty training programs including Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry, Dental Anesthesia, and Orthodontics.

Dr. Glied completed Dental School at the University of Western Ontario, in Canada, and subsequently a General Practice Residency at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital/McGill University,  followed by Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Yeshiva University in the Bronx, New York.
