“Surgical” extractions are performed by nearly all general dentists yet for many clinicians they are an unpredictable, much-feared nemesis. This presentation reveals a proprietary algorithmic approach used by oral surgeons to remove difficult roots that does not include buccal bone removal but allows GPs to finish cases more smoothly and onschedule. This useful knowledge is not currently utilized by many of our colleagues.
- Use methods and techniques for exodontia that enables them to perform “surgical” or difficult extractions faster, easier, and more predictably.
- Utilize the armanentarium necessary to allow the most efficient oral surgery possible.
- Prevent and/or manage complications that can occur during oral surgery such as excessively long surgery, bleeding, sinus problems, etc.
